Most of you know by now that I’ve become somewhat obsessed with CBD as of late. It’s helped me to increase my quality of life with Meniere’s disease and I find it endless fascinating.

CBD doesn’t affect my Meniere’s symptoms directly, but it completely erases my stress and anxiety, both of which are major triggers for me. Indirectly, CBD has been a lifesaver.

And I know it’s helping many of you, too. I hear from people every day who are benefitting from CBD, and even more from people who are interested in trying it and have questions.

If you haven’t heard of CBD before, allow me to give you a brief introduction. (If you’re familiar with CBD, you can skip ahead to the review.)

CBD is one of 113 different cannabinoids found in the marijuana plant. On its own, it’s non-psychoactive which means you will not get high from consuming CBD. Yet it’s believed to be responsible for many of the medicinal effects of cannabis.Studies have shown CBD to have a wide variety of medicinal properties, from anti-inflammatory to anti-anxiety and anti-nausea. It’s also neuroprotective, has pain-killing properties, and can help to lower blood pressure, amongst many other benefits.

Recently, I’ve talked a lot about CBD oil, sublingual administration, and CBD-infused drinks. Today, I want to tell you about an awesome new CBD product I’ve been testing for the last 2 weeks, and a faster way to consume CBD.

The Review:

For the last few weeks, I’ve been testing the disposable CBD vape pens from CBDistillery.

I absolutely loved CBDistillery’s full spectrum CBD oils (I’ve tried the 500mg and 1000mg concentrations), so I had high hopes for their vape pens.

I also wasn’t impressed when I tried Charlottes Web’s disposable vape pens (sold by my local CWhemp distributor – not available on their website), and I hoped that CBDistillery would offer a better experience.

In the end, I was not disappointed. In fact, I’m totally obsessed with these pens. I keep one with me all the time now when I go out. At certain times, I even prefer vaping to oil.

Form Factor and Flavor:

Let’s start with the form factor. The pens themselves are beautifully designed – sleek, discreet, and made with high end materials. The oil tank and mouthpiece are made of glass, which not only looks great, but adds to the overall vaping experience.

And the vaping experience is excellent. Interestingly, CBDistillery opted to use CBD isolate with their CBD vape products. This means that there is no THC or any other cannabinoids of any kind, only flavoring compounds and terpenes, which are the naturally occurring flavor oils in the hemp plant.

(Note: You cannot get high from consuming CBD, but many full spectrum hemp extracts, including many full spectrum CBD Oils, contain trace amounts of THC that can cause a positive drug test for THC/Marijuana. These CBD vape pens are 100% THC free.)

And the flavors are good. I’ve tried all 5 vape pen flavors:

If I had to pick a favorite, I’d say I liked Grand Daddy Purp the most (tastes lemony) with grape as a close second. But I thought they all tasted good. The flavors are subtle, but enjoyable.

The vapor is very smooth too. Which is good, because these pens draw very well, and it’s easy to inhale quite a lot if you’re not careful. CBDistillery decided to go with Triethyl Citrate as a carrier liquid, rather than MCT oil, propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin. It makes it tastes better in my opinion, plus propylene glycol has been shown to be ototoxic to animals in at least one published study.

Vaping Experience:

It’s important to understand that vaping CBD is a very different experience than consuming it orally or sublingually.

It comes on much faster because it absorbs through the lungs very quickly. It’s also much simpler to dose, because you control exactly how much you inhale, and it isn’t a massive amount of CBD each time. The effects also last for a shorter duration than sublingual and oral administration.

The only drawback here is that if you require a large amount of CBD per dose, it’s going to likely take at least several large inhalations.

But in certain situations, these pens really shine. For example, if I’m stressed out during the day, and I’m out and about, it’s very easy for me to just take a quick hit or two from one of the vape pens and poof, anxiety gone.

It’s also great when you aren’t feeling well and need immediate relief – it kicks in almost immediately.

The Verdict:

So what’s the verdict? I absolutely love these CBD vape pens and I can’t recommend them enough.

I enjoyed all of the flavors. And they’re only $25-28 each at the moment (or $60 for a variety pack with 3 which is what I purchased), so you can try it without breaking the bank.

Plus, if you use the discount code TINNITUS-CBD you can get 10% off.

CBDistillery also offers vape cartridges (which I’ve tried as well – and enjoyed just as much) if you have a vape setup and prefer to use your own battery.

NOTE: CBDistillery sent me these vape pens for free to test out and provide an honest review. I receive many free products (and purchase many products too) but only ever end up writing about a very small percentage of them that work well for me, that I personally stand behind, and actually use myself. 1. I’ve also been vaping CBD daily for about a month now and noticed a positive effective on day-to-day management. It’s helped relieve stress and anxiety and I’ve generally been in a better mood. I’ve also tried the edibles but I prefer vaping due to the quickness and not eating a sugar-packed gummy. Normally when I start having symptoms, nothing stops it until I’m at home, with a Valium and lots of sleep but I’ve been able to cope with just meclizine and CBD to get through work days.

    • Hi Michelle, you do not need one in the US. CBD vape pens are available in Canada through the medical marijuana system, as well as online. But not from this company.

  2. Do you think these would help with tinnitus not related to Meniere’s? I suppose I might try it just to see… My tinnitus doesn’t bother me much normally but it can become very bothersome when I’m trying to sleep, and I do know CBD oil is supposed to help with sleep.

    • It might! Stress and anxiety are big tinnitus triggers, so anything that helps calm you down has the possibility of helping you better cope with tinnitus. It certainly is the case for me!

    • Start with one, wait 5-10 minutes, and repeat until you figure out how many hits works best for you! You can always take more, but you can’t take less.
